digital vs. regular photography

what makes those 2 different??? hmm... i do agree that you can do a lot with digital photography. you can play around with the image using photoshop after you capture it. BUT where's the skill there then if you depend on the power of photoshop's manipulation so much to make your pictures look good? i'm not talking about manipulating some pictures and create a collage out of it. i know some people who call themselves photographers, and everytime they're done taking pictures, what they do is sitting in front of computer and fixing the color, blur the image 'n so on... are you sure that you're a photographer? so what if you don't have a computer handy??? you're screwed then?

i'm not against digital photography at all, in fact, it's really good to know nowadays... but what i had seen from some people agitate me. i still think that a TRUE photographer has the eyes to capture very good pictures no matter the weather's cloudy, raining, bright sunshine, or even dark. what's the point of having that little screen behind the camera then if you can't see that you're taking the picture with enough light, good shadow, with the colors you want, etc.? i guess the more advance of technology, the more spoiled people existed.

i might be wrong, but i still think that people need to have a strong background of the original photography 1st, before s/he move on to the digital world. i dunno... may be all you need is just need the damn talent after all..
