flavors are GOOD...
when it comes to dating, i know and understand that it's all about preferences... but what i don't understand is when someone start avoiding certain people based on the stereotyping implanted in their head by media or society or parents. 'cuz i NEVER think it's fair at all... why many people don't even try to get to know a person further before making any judgement aside f/ what color they are or where they're from?................ yes, i gotta admit... i'm a human myself that we can't ignore our very 1st impression towards someone... but then don't you think that we need to give everybody a chance to prove themselves? that what implanted in our head by society or even our own parents aren't good at all SOMETIMES or MANY TIMES??
so anyway... the reason i write this is based on the conversation i had w/ a friend of mine sometime ago (and other conversations i had long time ago w/ my other friends)... she told me that her parents didn't mind whomever she dated or married later on, BUT her parents specifically asked her not to date blacks. then i asked her why. she herself never knew, she just knew that her parents wouldn't like it so now she just had no interest at all... hmm... or my other friends said their parents or they themselves already have certain impressions about certain races that's why they're just avoiding certain races completely.
another example, long long time ago... some of my friends told me that they would never date any indians or middle eastern people... why?? with the simple fact that they thought people from those areas were smelly.... goodness gracious! that's annoying and extremely shallow!! sorry, at least that's what i think.... and other examples that i heard or saw with my own eyes...
why?? why?? why??.... is it really necessary to do such thing? don't you think it hurts when it happen to yourself? or am i all alone to think that colors and where one's from are just unimportant stuff we need to worry about? don't you think if we have more choices to choose from, then we can have enough comparison to decide what we really want at the end? why people can't give others a chance first before making any judgements?? don't you think colors are JUST colors that won't affect the person within? some people might have more pigments than the others... that's all... but there's no guarantee that if the ones with light or dark skin, small or big eyes, blond or brunette, etc. will be better than the rest of the crowd...
i dunno... i just wish some people can be more open minded....
on a fun note, a very good friend of mine once mentioned to me that 'once you go black, you don't wanna go back'.... hmmm... ;) i didn't get it at first or believe it either.... hehehe... was that true??? ..... now i think i know the answer... ;) so, might it be what people are afraid of??? hahahaha.... just kidding...
